First Blood, Then Answer
We're tied at seven early, but Villanova struck first. Thirteen plays, and Ragland punches it in from five yards out. Seven-nothing, Wildcats. But we don't flinch. Watkins drops back, and Jenkins is gone , 68 yards, deep right, and we're right back in it. Seven apiece. Both defenses settle in. Punts traded. Nothing cheap, nothing easy. We're knotted up heading toward the second.
The Grind of the Middle Frames
Lipinski puts us on top with a 22-yard field goal. Ten-seven, Tribe. Then Ellis steps in front of a McQuaide pass at our own 34 , turnover, and the sideline is buzzing. But we can't cash it in. Punt. Villanova answers before the half: Mace scampers left, 11 yards, and it's 14 to 10 them. We push again, but the drive stalls. They tack on a 42-yard field goal as time expires. Seventeen-ten, Wildcats, and the kickoff to start the third is a mess , Johnson fumbles, recovers his own. We survive it.
The Swing
We grind. Sixteen plays to open the half, and Lipinski hits from 39. Thirteen-seventeen. Then the defense stands up , Villanova goes for it on fourth down at our four, and Gordon stops Ragland cold. Turnover on downs. We take over, and Watkins sneaks it in from a yard out. Nineteen-seventeen, Tribe. The kick is no good, but we've got the lead. Then the fourth quarter turns wild.
Chaos and Glory
Rainer forces a fumble, Johnson recovers. Lipinski drills a 41-yarder. Twenty-two-seventeen. Robinson picks off McQuaide. Then Watkins throws one back , Tyson returns it 36 yards to our 32. Villanova cashes in: Binkowski from eight, two-point conversion good. Twenty-five-twenty-two, them. We go for it on fourth down and come up short. Then Ragland breaks loose , 37 yards, and it's 32 to 22 with 2:43 left. It feels like the air is gone. But we don't quit. Lipinski hits from 40. Twenty-five-thirty-two. Then, with 22 seconds left, Watkins finds Austin from 37 yards out. Tie game. Ellis picks off McQuaide again and returns it to their 28. And then , Lipinski, from 45 yards, as time expires. Thirty-five, thirty-two. Tribe wins.

We're tied, and we don't love it. Our next drive stalls. Myers punts 61 yards to the 6. They can't do anything with it. Boyd punts it back. We get the ball with no time left in the quarter. Eight plays, but we can't convert. McQuaide's punt goes just 18 yards. We're pinned at their 22. Still 7 to 7.
Q2: The Turnover, The Answer, The Lead
They take over. Eleven plays. They chew the clock. Lipinski from 22 yards out. Good. 10 to 7, Tribe. We need a response. Four plays. McQuaide drops back, throws. Ellis intercepts at the 34. Q3: The Lead Slips Away
The second half starts with a fumble on the kickoff. They recover it. But they can't punch it in. Lipinski from 39. Good. 13 to 17. We go three-and-out. Myers punts just 24 yards. They take over at our 45. Five plays. Watkins rushes up the middle. One yard. Touchdown. The kick fails. 19 to 17. They've got the lead. We need an answer. Eight plays. We drive all the way down. Fourth down at the 4. Ragland takes it up the middle. Zero yards. Turnover on downs. We had the chance, and we gave it away. They take over, but they can't move it either. Punt. Then it happens. With 22 seconds left, Watkins throws deep. Austin catches it. 37 yards. Touchdown. The kick is good. 32 to 32. We get the ball. Four plays. McQuaide throws.
