We open the game, and it's all nerves. Fourteen plays, we march, we fight, we move the ball. Then it happens. Hedden drops back, and Jones steps in front. Intercepted at the goal line. Touchback. All that work, gone. Florida State takes over, grinds out eleven plays, and settles for a field goal from 43 yards. Panikowski drills it. 0 to 3. We get the ball back, six plays, and we punt it away. Richter sends it 36 yards, fair catch at the Florida State 40. Then the Seminoles go to work. Seven plays, and Daniels scrambles right, four yards, and he's in. Touchdown. Kick is good. 0 to 10, and we're staring at a hole.

Q2: We Answer, Then They Strike

We need a response, and we get one. Hedden throws deep middle, and Malone-Bradford hauls it in at the goal line. Thirty-three yards. Touchdown. Uvaydov's kick is good. 7 to 10. We're right back in it. Both teams trade punts. Then Daniels drops back, and Session steps in front. Intercepted at the NMS 32. We take over, but we can't do anything with it. Punt. Florida State gets it back with time winding down. Nine plays, and Daniels finds Singleton Jr. short right, four yards, touchdown. 7 to 17. We get the ball with 36 seconds left. Three plays. Washington Jr. rushes middle for a yard, and that's the half. We trail by ten.

Q3: A Field Goal, Then a Gut Punch

We come out and we fight. Twelve plays, we chew the clock, we move the chains. Uvaydov lines up from 38 yards. Good. 10 to 17. We're within one score. But Florida State answers. Thirteen plays. Daniels finds Robinson for 16 yards, out of bounds, first down. Then Singleton Jr. rushes middle, two yards, and he's in. Touchdown. 10 to 24. We get the ball back, eight plays, and we punt it away. The lead is fourteen, and the clock is our enemy.

Q4: The Fight, and the Final Blow

Florida State adds a field goal from 41 yards. 10 to 27. We need a touchdown, and we need it now. Nine plays. Hedden finds King for 34 yards. Touchdown. Barker's kick is good. 17 to 27. We're right back in it. But the kickoff hurts us. A penalty, a personal foul, and Florida State starts with great field position. Ten plays later, Kromah rushes middle for one yard. Touchdown. 17 to 34. We get the ball back, twelve plays, we fight to the end. But on fourth down, Hedden throws incomplete, broken up by Diggs. Turnover on downs. Florida State kneels it out. The final is 17 to 34. We fought, we answered, but in the end, they were just too much.

First Blood, Then a Strike

We open at zero-zero, and the nerves are real. New Mexico State takes the ball and grinds out fourteen plays, chewing the clock, testing us. But on third and long, Hedden drops back, and he lets it fly. Jones reads it all the way. He steps in front, hauls it in at the goal line, and it's a touchback. Our defense just stole the opening drive. We take over and move it methodically. Eleven plays, and we stall around their 43. Panikowski trots out, and from 43 yards out, it's good. We're on the board first. 3 to 0. They punt it back, and now we're rolling. Daniels keeps it himself, bursts right, and dives into the end zone from 4 yards out. Touchdown, Seminoles. The crowd is up, and we're up 10 to 0.

They Answer, We Answer

New Mexico State isn't going away. They march right back, and Hedden finds Malone-Bradford deep down the middle. He catches it at the goal line, 33 yards, touchdown. It's 10 to 7, and the air goes out of the building for a second. We try to respond, but Daniels gets picked off at their 32. A turnover, and we're stuck. We trade punts, and then it's time. With under a minute left in the half, Daniels rolls out and finds Singleton Jr. short right. He catches it at the goal line, 4 yards, touchdown. We take a 17 to 7 lead into the locker room.

Grinding It Out

We come out flat to start the third, punting it away. They drive, and Uvaydov hits a 38-yard field goal. It's 17 to 10, and they're hanging around. But then we put together a drive. Thirteen plays, and we're knocking on the door. Daniels finds Robinson for 16 yards to move the chains. Then Singleton Jr. takes it up the middle, 2 yards, touchdown. We're up 24 to 10, and the sideline is alive again. They get the ball back, but our defense holds, and they punt it away to start the fourth.

Closing the Door

We push down the field, and Panikowski adds a 41-yard field goal. 27 to 10. But New Mexico State answers right back. Hedden hits King for a 34-yard touchdown. It's 27 to 17, and suddenly, it's a game again. Not for long. We take the kickoff, and we march. Ten plays, and Kromah punches it in from 1 yard out. Touchdown. 34 to 17. That's the dagger. They try to answer, but our defense stands tall. On fourth down, Hedden throws it short middle, and Diggs breaks it up. Turnover on downs. Game over. We take a knee, twice. Final score: Florida State 34, New Mexico State 17. We win.
