We stay at 0 to 14. Mateer finds Beers for 40 yards. Touchdown. 0 to 21. The first quarter ends and we're staring at a mountain. We push back. Henry rips off 10 yards to the OU28. First down. We're in business. Then a delay of game pushes us back. Arreola tries from 50. NO GOOD. Two missed field goals. The quarter ends 0 to 21.
Second Quarter: The Wall Holds
Sandell hits from 33. 0 to 24. We punt it away. Braun's kick goes just 8 yards. We can't flip the field. Sandell again, this time from 32. 0 to 27. The half is slipping. Colson Jr. drops back, and Adebawore gets home. Sacked for a loss of 6. The clock hits zero. We're down 27 at the break. It feels worse than the score.
Third Quarter: The Bottom Falls Out
We get the ball to start the half. We need something. Anything. Jones takes the handoff, and Bowen punches it out. Fumble. Oklahoma recovers at our 34. Two plays later, Mateer finds Sategna III for 34 yards. Touchdown. 0 to 34. We punt. Mateer goes deep to Harris for 48 yards. Touchdown. 0 to 41. We go for it on fourth down. Moore III throws incomplete. Turnover on downs. Evans hits from 34. 0 to 44. Then Newbauer rushes left for 3 yards. Touchdown. 0 to 51. The third quarter ends with the game long gone.
Fourth Quarter: Playing For Pride
Moore III fumbles. Oklahoma recovers. But then Bass fumbles right back. Hutchinson recovers at the OU17. We have life. Arreola lines up from 41. NO GOOD. Third missed field goal of the night. The clock winds down. Moore III finds Capell for 12 yards. First down. The final whistle blows. 51 to 0. It's a long ride home.

First Quarter Fireworks
It is 96 degrees and clear here in Norman, and we are rolling. We take the ball first and we grind it out , 13 plays, and Avant punches it in from the 1-yard line. Touchdown, Sooners. 7 to 0. Then the special teams show up. UTEP punts, and Sategna III fields it at our own 12. He takes off. 88 yards to the house. The place erupts. 14 to 0, and we haven't even blinked. UTEP tries to answer. They drive all the way down, but the field goal from 33 yards is no good. We take over, and Mateer finds Beers , caught at the 21, 40 yards to the end zone. Touchdown. 21 to 0. UTEP gets one more chance before the quarter ends. They move it, they get a first down on a 10-yard run. But then a delay of game pushes them back, and the 50-yard attempt sails wide. We are rolling.
Settling In
Second quarter, and we keep the foot down. We drive 11 plays, and Sandell knocks through a 33-yard field goal. 24 to 0. UTEP punts it away , just 8 yards. We take over with great field position, and Sandell hits another one, this time from 32. 27 to 0. UTEP tries to get something going before the half, but Adebawore gets home. Colson Jr. is sacked for a loss of 6. The half ends. We are up 27, and it feels like more.
The Floodgates Open
Third quarter. UTEP has the ball, and Jones tries to get around the edge. Bowen forces it. The ball comes out. Wein recovers at the UTEP 34. Two plays later, Mateer drops it deep to Sategna III , caught at the 7, 34 yards to the end zone. Touchdown. 34 to 0. We are not done. Mateer again, this time to Harris , caught at the 20, 48 yards to the house. 41 to 0. UTEP goes for it on fourth down. Incomplete. We take over, and Evans adds a 34-yard field goal. 44 to 0. Then Newbauer gets in on the act. A 3-yard rush left, and he's in. Touchdown. 51 to 0. The backups are scoring now.
Running Out The Clock
Fourth quarter is all about the backups. UTEP fumbles it away again , Moore III loses it, Nesta recovers. We can't convert, and we punt it away. UTEP gets a sack on us, then they miss a 41-yard field goal. We get the ball back, run out the clock, and that's the ballgame. 51 to 0. A dominant performance from start to finish. We take care of business, and the defense never even let them sniff the end zone.
