Pregame

It's Clemson Tigers against LSU Tigers, and LSU has the ball first. We're here, we're ready, and the noise is already building. This is the one we've been waiting for, and it starts right now.

Q1

LSU comes out firing, no huddle, and Leavitt drops back. He lets it go, and Hampton steps in front of it. Interception at the LSU 34, and Hampton brings it back a yard to the LSU 33. That's how you start a game. We take over with the ball and a chance to strike first. We move it, we get into range, and Hauser lines up for a 49-yard field goal. The snap is clean, the hold is good, and it's through the uprights. Three nothing, Clemson. The crowd is on its feet, and we've drawn first blood. But LSU answers. Watkins Jr. takes the handoff, bounces it right, and he's got room. Fourteen yards to the Clemson 34, out of bounds, and that's a first down. They're moving now, they've got momentum, and you can feel the shift. They keep pushing, they keep grinding, and Jones punches it in from a yard out. Touchdown LSU, and just like that, it's tied at three. Then it gets worse. Vizzina drops back, he's looking for a receiver, and Ross steps in front of it at the Clemson 30. He's got nothing but green in front of him, and he takes it all the way back. Thirty yards to the house. Touchdown LSU, and we're down 17 to 3. The air went out of this place in a hurry.

The Sequence

This is where the game got away from us. It started with LSU driving, and Watkins Jr. taking that handoff right for 14 yards to the Clemson 34, out of bounds, first down. That was the spark. They took that and they built on it. They drove, they converted, they kept the chains moving. Then Jones took it left for five yards to the Clemson 2, and Myrick got flagged for a face mask, pushing them to the 1. First and goal from the 1. Jones took it up the middle, one yard, touchdown. Three to ten. We got the ball back, and we tried to answer. Vizzina dropped back, and Ross read it all the way. Intercepted at the Clemson 30, and he returned it 30 yards to the end zone. Touchdown LSU. Seventeen to three. The game turned in a blink, and we never got it back. We punted, they kept coming, and the first half ended with us staring at a 17-point hole that felt twice as deep.

Q2

The second quarter starts, and LSU misses a field goal. We get the ball back, and we go three and out. Punt. Then LSU goes back to work. Leavitt finds Watkins Jr. short right, and he turns it into 20 yards to the Clemson 48, out of bounds, first down. They're moving again. Leavitt keeps it himself, rushes right, and he's in. Eight yards, touchdown. Twenty-four to three. We get the ball, we punt. They get the ball, they punt. We get the ball, we punt. It's a cycle we can't break. Then, with a minute and a half left in the half, Leavitt does it again. Rushes right, 13 yards, touchdown. Thirty-one to three. We get the ball back, we punt, and then we get one more possession before the half, and we punt that one away too. We go into the break down 31 to 3, and it feels like we're a million miles away.

Q3

The third quarter starts, and we need something. Anything. LSU gets the ball, and they drive. Ten plays, and Leavitt finds Watkins Jr. deep left, caught at the Clemson 5, and he takes it in for 32 yards. Touchdown. Thirty-eight to three. We get the ball, we drive, we get to fourth down, and we go for it. We don't get it. Turnover on downs. LSU takes over, and they don't waste any time. Leavitt hits Harris short left for 32 yards to the Clemson 46, first down. Then Jones takes it left, 12 yards, touchdown. Forty-four to three. The extra point fails, but it doesn't matter. We punt, they drive, and the quarter ends with us still staring at that score.

Q4

The fourth quarter starts, and we're still fighting. We punt, and LSU goes back to work. Clark drops back, finds Wright III short right, caught at the Clemson 27, and he takes it 30 yards to the end zone. Touchdown. Fifty-one to three. There's a flag on the play, unsportsmanlike conduct on Watkins Jr., but the kick is good. Fifty-one to three. Then, finally, we put something together. Vizzina finds Preston short left, caught at the Clemson 42, and he turns it into 25 yards to the LSU 28. First down. We keep pushing. Eziomume takes the handoff, rushes right, and he's gone. Eleven yards, touchdown. Hauser's kick is good. Ten to fifty-one. It's not the comeback we wanted, but it's a score, and it's something. LSU gets the ball back, they run out the clock, and that's the game.

Wrap-up

Final score, Clemson 10, LSU 51. It's a tough one to swallow. We started with an interception and a field goal, and it felt like our night. Then it slipped away, one play at a time, and we couldn't get it back. We kept fighting, we kept pushing, and we got one on the board late. But tonight belonged to them. We take this one, we learn from it, and we move on. That's all we can do.

The Tigers from the other side of the field are here in our house, and there's that familiar hum in the air, that electricity that only comes when we're about to play football. LSU takes the field, and we're ready to see what this offense can do from the very first snap.

Q1

We come out in the no huddle, shotgun, and Leavitt drops back to throw. He lets it go, and Hampton steps in front of it at our own 34. He brings it back just one yard to the 33, and just like that, we've given it away. The ball is theirs, and the crowd lets out that collective groan, the kind you feel in your chest. We had the chance to set the tone, and instead we handed them the opening. They take over and move it just enough to give Hauser a shot from 49 yards out. The kick is up, and it's good. Three to nothing, Clemson. We gave them that one, and now we're chasing.

The Sequence

This is where the game turns. We get the ball back at our own territory, and Watkins Jr. takes a handoff, cuts right, and rips off 14 yards to their 34. That's the spark. That's the run that wakes everybody up. First down, and suddenly we're moving. We keep pushing, methodical, patient, and we get close enough for a field goal. It's good, and we're tied at three. But we're not done. We're just getting started. We get the ball back, and Jones takes it left, fights for five yards, gets the first down, and then Clemson gives us a gift. Face mask penalty, and now we're at the one. One yard to paydirt. Jones takes it up the middle, and he's in. Touchdown. The kick is good, and it's ten to three. We've taken the lead, and the place is rocking. Then comes the moment that breaks them. Vizzina drops back, and he lets it go. Ross steps in front of it at their 30, and there's nothing but green in front of him. He takes it all the way back. Touchdown. Defensive touchdown. The kick is good, and it's seventeen to three. The air goes out of their sideline, and we're flying.

Q2

We're up seventeen to three, and we're not letting up. We move the ball, but we stall and miss a field goal. No harm done. We get it back, and Leavitt finds Watkins Jr. for 20 yards, out to their 48. First down. Then Leavitt keeps it himself, rushes right, and he's gone. Eight yards into the end zone. Touchdown. The kick is good, and it's twenty-four to three. They can't answer. They punt, we punt, they punt. Then we get it back with a little time left in the half, and Leavitt does it again. He takes off right, 13 yards, and he's in. Touchdown. The kick is good, and it's thirty-one to three at the half. We've got them buried, and the only question now is how deep we want to dig.

Halftime

Thirty-one to three. That's where we stand. The half turned on that interception return, the one where Ross stepped in front and took it to the house. That wasn't just a score, that was a statement. It took whatever fight they had left and it drained it right out of them. We need to come out in the second half and keep our foot on the gas. No letting up, no playing safe. We've got them where we want them, and we need to finish this.

Q3

We get the ball to start the half, and we're back at it. Leavitt drops back, and he lets it fly deep left to Watkins Jr. He catches it at the five, and he's in. Thirty-two yards, touchdown. The kick is good, and it's thirty-eight to three. We're not slowing down. They get the ball and they try to answer, but we hold them on downs. We take over, and Leavitt finds Harris short left, and Harris turns it into 32 yards, out to their 46. Then Jones takes it left, 12 yards, and he's in. Touchdown. The two-point try fails, but it doesn't matter. It's forty-four to three. We get the ball back, and Wilson III rips off a 23-yard run, but it gets called back on a hold. We still move it, but we end up punting after a long drive. No matter. The damage is done.

Q4

Forty-four to three, and we're still going. They punt, and we take over. Clark drops back, and he finds Wright III short right. Wright III catches it at their 27, and he takes it 30 yards to the house. Touchdown. The kick is good, and it's fifty-one to three. There's a flag on the play, unsportsmanlike conduct on Watkins Jr., but the kick is still good, and the score stands. They get the ball back, and they finally put something together. Vizzina finds Preston for 25 yards, down to our 28. Then Eziomume takes it right, 11 yards, and he's in. Touchdown. The kick is good, and it's fifty-one to ten. They got one, but it's far too little, far too late. We get the ball back, and Longstreet drops back, throws deep left to Wright III, and he comes down with it at their 40. First down. We run out the clock, and that's the ball game.

Fifty-one to ten. That's the final. We came out, we took control, and we never let go. From that early interception to the defensive touchdown that broke their spirit, this was our night from start to finish. We're LSU, and we showed them what that means.
