They settle for the field goal, and it's ten to nothing. We're digging, but the hole keeps getting deeper. We get the ball back, seven plays, and we're punting again. Nothing's working. Then Tarleton gets it, and Hines takes a handoff up the right side. Seventy-two yards. Just like that, he's at our twenty-seven. The whole sideline is stunned. They're one play away from putting this thing away. And they do. Anderson rolls right, finds Willis in the end zone for seven yards, and it's seventeen to nothing. The game is slipping away, and we need something, anything, to grab onto. And then, finally, we wake up. Kastantin drops back, throws short middle to Jacon-Duffy, and he takes it twenty-nine yards to their thirteen. First down. The crowd finds its voice again. We're in business. Tarleton was driving, they went for it on fourth and one at our forty-one, and Anderson tried to run it himself. Bradley and Odom met him in the hole, one yard, turnover on downs. That kept it at seven to nothing instead of fourteen. That gave us a chance to breathe, to find our footing, and eventually to get on the board before the half. We're down ten, but we've got the ball to start the third quarter. We've got life. We just need to come out and take it.

We get the ball to start the half, and we're methodical. Fifteen plays. We're moving the chains, we're eating clock, and we're finally looking like the team we thought we'd be. Then Kastantin drops back, throws deep left to White, and it's broken up. But the flag comes out. Pass interference on Woods, fifteen yards, automatic first down. We're in business. Kastantin finds Amachree over the middle, nineteen yards, and we're at their twenty-four. This is our chance. We push, we fight, but we can't get it in. We settle for the field goal, and it's seventeen to ten. We're within one score. The crowd is roaring. Tarleton gets the ball back, and they're trying to answer. Anderson drops back, throws deep middle to Fleming, and it's forty-two yards. They're at our thirty-eight, and they're moving. But then, on second down, Kostus gets home. He sacks Anderson for a loss of two, and it's fourth down. They go for it, and they don't get it. Turnover on downs. We stopped them again. We've got the ball, we've got the momentum, and we're driving. One play. That's all it takes. Amachree takes the handoff left, three yards, and the ball comes out. Roberts forces it, Dickens recovers for Tarleton at our thirty-six. Just like that, the momentum is gone. We gave it right back.
