He hits one that should be an out, but Gunnar Henderson can't handle it at shortstop. It's a fielding error, and that puts Caleb Durbin on third with Monasterio at first. Two outs, two on, and the crowd's getting a little nervous. Then Eli White steps to the plate. He gets a pitch he likes, and he doesn't waste it. He launches one to left center field, and it's gone. The momentum is ours now. We took their punch and answered with a knockout of our own. Three to one, and we're feeling good.

Top 3 — A Missed Chance

Top of the third, and we're looking to add on. First batter up, and Adley Rutschman steps in. He hits a ground ball to second, but it's deflected by first baseman Pete Alonso, and it rolls into the outfield. Rutschman's on second with a double, no outs, and we've got a runner in scoring position right away. This is our chance to put some distance between us and Baltimore. But we can't cash it in. The next few batters can't bring him home, and we leave him stranded. Five batters come up, no runs, and we're still up three to one. It's a missed opportunity, but we're still in control.

Bot 3 — Keeping the Lead

Bottom of the third, and we're back at it. Three batters, three outs, no damage. The Orioles can't get anything going, and we're cruising. Top of the fourth, and it's a quick one. Three batters, no runs. We're not generating much at the plate right now, but we're not giving anything away either. The score stays at three to one. It's a little frustrating to see the bats go quiet, but we've got a lead, and that's what matters. We just need one more push to really put this one away.

Bot 4 — Shutting Them Down

Bottom of the fourth, and our guys are dealing. Three batters, three outs, no runs. Baltimore can't get a foothold. We're keeping them off balance, and the lead is holding steady. Three to one. The defense is sharp, the pitching is sharp, and we're starting to feel like this one is ours to lose.

It's a double, and suddenly the Orioles have a runner in scoring position with nobody out. This is the moment. We need a stop. And we get it. The Stretch

That gave Baltimore the early lead, but we answered right back in the top of the second with Eli White's three-run homer. That's been the story of this game.
