The Braves send three batters to the plate in the bottom of the second, and we make quick work of them. No runs, no drama, no traffic on the bases. Just three outs and we're back in the dugout, still tied at one. It's a quiet inning, but sometimes quiet is exactly what you need. We reset, we regroup, and we get back to the bats.

Top 3 — The Floodgates Open

This is the inning that changes everything. One out, a runner on, and Liam Hicks steps in. He gets a pitch he can handle and he doesn't miss it. A fly ball to right center field, and it just keeps carrying. That ball is gone, and Junior Caminero is trotting home ahead of him. Three to one, and the dugout is alive. But we're not done. Two outs now, a runner on, and Victor Mesa Jr. steps in. He hits a ground ball to center field, right past Michael Harris II, and Chandler Simpson comes racing home. Four to one. Top 4 — Yandy Doubles, Nothing More

We keep the pressure on in the fourth. One out, bases empty, and Yandy Díaz steps in. He gets a pitch he can drive and sends a fly ball to right field, right at Ronald Acuña Jr. It's a double, and suddenly we've got a runner in scoring position with just one out. This is the kind of moment where you tack on another run, where you put the game out of reach. But we can't get him home. The next two batters can't bring him in, and we leave him stranded at second. Four to one, still, and we're left wondering what could have been.

Bot 4 — Another Quiet Frame

The Braves get four batters to the plate in the bottom of the fourth, but they can't push anything across. No runs, no real threats, just another quiet frame. But again, we can't bring him home. The inning ends with Mesa stranded at second, and we're still sitting at four to one. It's not hurting us yet, but these missed chances have a way of adding up.

Three batters for Atlanta in the bottom of the fifth, and three outs. No runs, no baserunners, nothing. We're rolling now. The Braves haven't scored since the first inning, and every time they step in the box, we're making it look easy. Four to one after five, and we're in complete control.

Top 6 — Díaz Gets the Run Home

No outs, a runner on, and we've got a chance to add to the lead. Jorge Mateo is on third, and Yandy Díaz steps in. He doesn't need a hit here. He just needs contact, and he gets it. A ground ball to second baseman Ozzie Albies, who fires to catcher Sean Murphy, who steps on the plate to get Mateo. It's a trade , an out for a run , and we'll take that every time. Five to one. The lead grows, and the Braves are running out of time.

Bot 6 — Still Shut Down

Four batters for Atlanta in the bottom of the sixth, and still nothing. No runs, no momentum, no answers. We've got a four-run lead, and every inning that passes without a Braves rally makes this one feel more and more like ours.

Top 7 — Quick and Quiet

Three batters for us in the top of the seventh, and we go down quietly. No runs, no baserunners, just a quick inning. It doesn't matter. We've got the lead, and we've got the pitching to hold it.

Bot 7 — The Game Is Settled

Three batters for Atlanta in the bottom of the seventh, and three more outs. The Braves have nothing left. They haven't scored since the first inning, and now we're just three outs away from the eighth. Five to one, and this one feels done.

Top 8 — Yandy Goes Deep

Two outs, bases empty, and Yandy Díaz steps in for another at-bat. He's already got a double tonight, but he wants more. He gets a pitch he can drive and he sends it on a line to left field. That ball is gone. Six to one. Yandy Díaz has himself a night, and we've got a five-run lead heading into the final stretch.

Two outs, bases empty, and Richie Palacios steps in for one last at-bat. He doesn't need to do anything. The game is already in hand. But he gets a pitch he likes and he sends it on a line to right field. That ball is gone. Seven to one. Palacios adds the exclamation point, and now we're just three outs from a blowout.

Bot 9 — Closing It Out

Three batters for Atlanta in the bottom of the ninth, and three outs. No runs, no drama, no last-minute heroics. The Braves go down quietly, and we close this one out. Seven to one, and it's a win.

Wrap-up

Mateo swings and misses, strike three. That's a huge out, a momentum swing right there. We get out of the inning without any damage, and the score stays tied. Bottom of the fourth, and we need to start climbing back. Four batters come up, but we can't push a run across. The score remains four to one, and the frustration is starting to build. We're getting hits, but we're not getting them when we need them. We need to string something together, and we need to do it soon.

The Stretch

We're in the middle of this one, and it's slipping away. The turning point was that two-run homer in the top of the third, the one that turned a one-run game into a three-run hole. We've had chances, but we haven't been able to cash in. The pitching is holding up, but the bats are cold. We need a rally, and we need it now. There's still time, but the clock is ticking.
